Gerry graduated from the University of Otago in 1987 and began his career as a Dental House Surgeon at Waikato Hospital. In 1989, he moved to Nelson with his wife, Gabrielle, and their six-month-old son. He spent many years in private practice, where he built lasting patient relationships and helped to grow the practice.

In 2017, after nearly 30 years in his previous practice, Gerry established Quin Dental to provide general dentistry and to meet the rising demand for cosmetic dentistry, dentofacial orthopaedics and orthodontics. As the practice grew, so did the team around him, strengthening the practice’s ability to support long-term oral health for the Nelson community.

Outside of the practice, much of Gerry’s time is spent with those closest to him, including his friends, children, and grandchildren. He makes the most of the Nelson lifestyle and enjoys golf and getting out on his bike, whether it’s commuting to work or exploring on weekends.
