Preventative dental care for children in Nelson
Children’s dentistry
Good dental health begins in childhood. Regular dental visits allow us to monitor the development of your child's teeth and jaws, identify problems early, and establish healthy habits.
Preventive care
We provide:
Regular dental examinations
Professional cleaning
Fissure sealants
Dietary and oral hygiene advice
Monitoring of tooth development
Monitoring teeth and jaw development
As children grow, their teeth and jaws change considerably.
We monitor the eruption of permanent teeth and the developing relationship between the upper and lower jaws.
If an orthodontic or developmental concern is identified, we can advise whether early assessment, treatment, or simply monitoring would be appropriate.
A positive dental experience
We aim to make dental visits comfortable and positive for children, helping them develop confidence in looking after their teeth and visiting the dentist regularly.
Free dental care for children
Children receive free dental care through the Community Oral Health Service until the end of Year 8. During this time, you can also choose to have your child’s dental care provided privately at Quin Dental.
From Year 9, free dental care is available at Quin Dental until age 18.
